Havana’s grand bouvelard
The first paved street in Havana, it was built when the city walls were torn down. The Prado is the boundary between the Vieja and Centro districts. Its lined with upscale hotels and buildings and the street is divided by a broad tree-lined walkway. The Capital building sits at one end and the Malecon and ocean on the other end. Unlike other capital cities, the government buildings are scattered all around the city and don’t occupy a central location.
